Over ten years on from their monumental first encounter, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao look like they could be set to lock horns once again.

In what was dubbed ‘The Fight Of The Century’, Mayweather and Pacquiao met for the unified WBC, WBA and WBO welterweight titles at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas back in 2015.

Whilst there was a considerable amount of hype surrounding their long-awaited showdown, the fight itself failed to live up to expectations as Mayweather fought his way to a comprehensive unanimous decision victory against the Filipino great.

Reports are now suggesting that the legendary duo could meet for the second time in 2026, just months after ‘PacMan’ made a shock comeback to the sport after taking a four year break to focus on his political career.

With Mayweather and Pacquiao now in talks for a sensational rematch that could take place in the spring of 2026, Pacquiao once revealed in a past interview with Seconds Out that he had just one demand ahead of a potential second encounter with his former rival.

“I said ok I can fight [an] exhibition, but there has to be [a judges’] decision.”

It appears that he may have got his wish, as he revealed this week that the negotiations for the rematch with Mayweather are indeed for a professional bout, meaning a winner would be decided.

Pacquiao faced reigning WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios back in July, although he fell short in his attempt at becoming the breaking his own record as the oldest welterweight champion of all time when their Las Vegas meeting was declared a draw.

As for Mayweather, the 48-year-old last appeared in an exhibition bout against John Gotti III in August of 2024, although the five-weight world champion has kept the door open for a return to the sport since then.
