Manny Pacquiao Rules Out Facing One Welterweight Champion If He Defeats Mario Barrios: “Who?”

Manny Pacquiao is just two months away from making a shock return to the sport.

The 46-year-old from the Philippines will challenge Mario Barrios for his WBC welterweight title at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday July 19.

Pacquiao has not fought as a professional since he was beaten by former WBA welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas four years ago, but he has appeared in two exhibition contests against Rukiya Anpo and DK Yoo respectively.

As he gears up to lace the gloves up once again, ‘Pac-Man’ has responded to a reigning world champion that recently made a call-out to the Filipino great for a potential showdown in the near future.

Speaking to Fight Hype, Pacquiao hit back at newly-crowned WBA Regular welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero calling him out in just one word.

“Who?”

He was then asked if he saw Romero’s performance against Ryan Garcia, which came as a shock to boxing fans around the world.

“No, I didn’t see it.”

‘Rolly’ floored Garcia in the second round of their bout at the iconic Times Square in New York City on May 2, before being declared the winner via unanimous decision after what was arguably the best performance of his rollercoaster career.

There had been plans for Garcia to face rival Devin Haney in a rematch later this year, but Romero’s victory may have squandered any chance of the fight happening, as ‘Rollly’ sets his sights on securing another huge opportunity for himself.
