Manny Pacquiao Names The 5 Opponents He Considers Better Than Floyd Mayweather

Manny Pacquiao has revealed five former opponents that he believes were better fighters than Floyd Mayweather.

The Filipino icon locked horns with five-weight world champion Mayweather in ‘The Fight Of The Century’ back in May of 2015, a bout that had been many years in the making.

Despite the hype that had surrounded the monumental showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the fight itself failed to live up to the expectations that had been set prior to it.

Mayweather boxed his way to a comprehensive unanimous decision victory over ‘PacMan’, unifying the WBC, WBA and WBO world welterweight titles in the process.

While many fans may believe Mayweather to be Pacquiao’s toughest ever opponent, the Filipino great disagrees, as speaking in a media scrum, he was asked to reveal the toughest opponents of his career and overlooked Mayweather.

“[Marco Antonio] Barrera, [Erik] Morales, [Juan Manuel] Marquez, [Oscar] De La Hoya, [Miguel] Cotto, [Antonio] Margarito.”

Pacquiao was then asked to state why he did not include Mayweather in his list.

“Floyd Mayweather, he’s running the whole 12 rounds and he won the fight. How is that [possible]? You know, I feel sorry for the fans because the fight was boring. That’s not what the fans expect from us as a fighter. If I am a fan, of course, I want to see a good fight, changing fight, not a fashion show.”

It has been reported in the last few weeks that Pacquiao and Mayweather are in talks to face each other in a rematch, over a decade on from that night in Las Vegas.

‘PacMan’ made a sensational comeback to the sport back in July when he fought to a draw against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios, although many believes the 46-year-old had done enough to be declared the winner.
