Manny Pacquiao Finally Answers Whether Negotiations Are Taking Place For A Fight With Lomachenko

Manny Pacquiao has issued an update on a potential showdown with Ukrainian great Vasiliy Lomachenko.

Eight-division world champion Pacquiao is said to be gearing up for his 74th professional bout after he made a sensational comeback to the sport in the summer following a four year hiatus.

‘PacMan’ fought to a draw against reigning WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in Las Vegas, although it has been argued that the Filipino superstar had done enough to be declared the winner after putting on an impressive display.

Some reports have suggested that the 46-year-old could be in line for a clash with three-weight world champion Lomachenko, who actually announced his retirement from the sport earlier this year after a long period of inactivity.

In an interview with IBA Boxing, Pacquiao was asked to share his thoughts on a possibility of him facing Lomachenko in the future, as he claims there are ‘negotiations ongoing’ for a match-up between the legendary duo.

“Lomachenko [is] possible. There’s a negotiation. It’s hard to say like Lomachenko now but it depends on like I said, negotiations ongoing.”

Prior to his retirement in June, Lomachenko was last in action in May of 2024 when he stopped Australia’s George Kambosos Jr in the penultimate round of their showdown in Perth to capture the IBF world lightweight title.

The 37-year-old previously held world titles at featherweight and super-featherweight respectively, capturing world honours in just his third professional bout when he defeated Gary Russell Jr to win the vacant WBO featherweight title back in 2014.
