Filipino great Manny Pacquiao remains open to a potential showdown with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis.
The 46-year-old made a sensational return to the ring last month, fighting to a majority decision draw against reigning WBC world welterweight champion Mario Barrios at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on July 19.
After putting on an impressive display against the younger champion, Pacquiao has confirmed he has interest in continuing his professional career, with rumours now circulating that the eight-division world champion could clash with ‘Tank’ Davis next.
Speaking to FightHub before his return against Barrios, ‘PacMan’ said he would ‘like’ to face Davis, but says the hard-hitting 30-year-old must be prepared to move up in weight to make the fight happen.
“If he want, then if he come up to 147 then we can fight … 145 maybe.”
Pacquiao was then asked to share his thoughts on how he would deals with ‘Tank’s notorious power if the two were to meet in the ring.
“Oh that’s not a problem for me because I’m an experienced fighter.”
Davis had been in line to clash with countryman Lamont Roach Jr next, after their first encounter back in March ended in controversy.
Pacquiao’s manager Sean Gibbons mentioned Davis specifically when asked what could be next for his charge.
