Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao believes he is capable of beating the best active fighter on the planet.

The 46-year-old made a sensational return to the ring in the summer when he fought to a majority decision draw against reigning WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Pacquiao rolled back the years against the younger champion but fell just short of becoming a world champion once again and the oldest welterweight champion of all time, where he would have broke a record that he actually set himself back in 2019.

The eight-division world champion is already in the process of finalising his return to the ring, with reports suggesting that he is interested in a potential match-up with reigning WBA welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero.

In a recent interview with ESNEWS, Pacquiao appeared to back himself against unbeaten pound-for-pound great Terence Crawford, as he claims ‘Bud’ is ‘lucky’ that he didn’t end up sharing a ring with him.

“I think it’s lucky that he didn’t fight me.”

This comes after Crawford and Pacquiao exchanged some words over social media when the American superstar claimed he would have defeated both ‘PacMan’ and Oscar De La Hoya.

‘Bud’ Crawford cemented himself as arguably the greatest fighter of his generation on September 13 when he defeated Mexican icon Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez to capture the undisputed super-middleweight championship.

The 38-year-old from Omaha became the first male fighter in boxing history to win an undisputed championship in three weight classes following his success at super-lightweight and welterweight respectively.
