Manny Pacquiao has sensationally overlooked Floyd Mayweather when revealing his best ever opponents.
The Filipino icon remains the only fighter in the sport’s history to win world titles across eight weight divisions, ranging from flyweight to super-welterweight.
Throughout the course of his glittering tenure, ‘Pac-Man’ defeated a number of generational greats including the likes of Oscar De La Hoya, Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez and Miguel Cotto amongst many others.
He did fall short to a number of top fighters however, with perhaps the most notable defeat of his career coming against Mayweather who he faced in the ‘Fight Of The Century’ back in 2015.
Speaking to Fight Hype, Pacquiao was asked to reveal the five best fighters he ever faced, although he does not actually include Mayweather in this strong list of names.
“[Marco Antonio] Barrera, [Erik] Morales, [Juan Manuel] Marquez, [Oscar] De La Hoya, [Miguel] Cotto, who else? [Antonio] Margarito.”
‘Pac-Man’ was then asked to give his reasons for not including Mayweather in this list.
“Floyd Mayweather? He’s running the whole twelve rounds and he won the fight. How is that? I mean I feel sorry for the fans because the fight is boring, that’s not [what] the fans expected of us. As a fighter, if I’m a fan, of course I want to see a good fight, not a fashion show.”
Pacquiao was beaten by Mayweather via unanimous decision when they clashed at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas a decade ago, with the fight seemingly underwhelming fans and failing to live up to its expectations despite the hype that surrounded the entire event.
