Unbeaten New Zealand heavyweight hope Joseph Parker is set to face Andy Ruiz Jr for the Vacant WBO heavyweight title.
It has been reported that the WBO made a suggestion that a four man tournament should take place after Tyson Fury vacated the belt last week.
That said the WBO is said to have voted to allow Parker to face Ruiz Jr for the vacant title. It was thought that Parker, who is the IBF mandatory challenger would enforce his right to face champion Anthony Joshua but when Team Joshua announced negotiations to fight Wladimir Klitschko, Parker decided to explore other opportunities.
The talk is that Parker will fight Ruiz Jr on December 10 in Auckland, the same night Joshua defends his IBF title.
