Joseph Parker Breaks Silence On Daniel Dubois World Title Fight With 2 Word Message

Joseph Parker is preparing for another world title shot against the current IBF champion Daniel Dubois.

Parker was previously the WBO ruler after beating Andy Ruiz Jr by a narrow majority decision on points back in 2016 in his native New Zealand.

He twice defended the belt against Razvan Cojanu and then Hughie Fury, both points victories, and then went into a unification fight with Anthony Joshua in March 2018.

Although he lost via unanimous decision, he was the first man to take the Brit the full 12-round distance. Since then he has had several ups and downs, including two wins over Derek Chisora but losses to Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce.

He has found his best form in the last year or so, however, with impressive points victories over both American power puncher Deontay Wilder, and towering Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang.

Those big wins have now set him up to face the in-form Dubois in February on an epic card in Saudi Arabia that is topped by a rematch between undisputed light heavyweight king Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol.

Ahead of that, Parker has posted a confident message on X signalling that he will be taking the belt.

“AND NEW.”

He has a tough task on his hands if he is to dethrone ‘DDD.’ The British knockout artist is also on a fine run of form having stopped quality opposition in Jarrell Miller, Fillip Hrgovic and Joshua in his last three fights over the last 12 months. As such this is a well-timed and sure to be explosive battle.
