Tommy Fury vs. Darren Till will not be going ahead.
They were set to meet at Co-Op Live in Manchester on January 18 on a Misfits Boxing event, but Fury has announced that he will not be moving forward with the fight.
He claims it is due to Till continuing his claims from the initial launch press conference that he will not hesitate to use kicks in the bout if he is behind on the scorecards.
The boxing world has been quick to react to the news, with Fury’s former rival Jake Paul summing up his thoughts on the fight falling through with one simple post on social media.
“Hahahaha.”
There is no love lost between Paul and Fury, with the only professional defeat for Paul coming when he lost to Fury by split decision back in February 2023.
As for Till, he has hit back at the claims of Fury, posting on X to insist that Fury is simply using an excuse in order to get out of the fight.
“Tommy Fury u are the biggest sh**house I have ever met in my life do not ever call yourself a fighter again I was selling the fight to make me and you more money you absolute empty head.
“Fighting family my as* you and ur dad sh**houses I don’t need to throw kicks you was getting knocked spark out you divvy we was making bank on this fight cos of me not you.
“I was building it you should be fighting and should be thanking me… over and out… no one wants to fight me… Jake Paul what are you upto you big fat dummy?
“I have only just found out that my team knew Tommy Fury was pulling out of the fight Sunday and didn’t want to tell me cos they were trying to get John Fury on the phone but he’s not answering calls apparently Tommy you was never ready for that date you crazy sh**house don’t ever show ur face again!!!”
With both men making their feelings, it seems the fallout from this situation is far from over.
