Jake Paul‘s planned fight with Gervonta Davis this month is no longer going ahead.
YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul was set to collide with WBA lightweight champion Davis in a 10-round exhibition bout at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida on Friday 14 November.
The fight received a lot of criticism since it was first announced, and boxing fans will no longer have to wonder how it would unfold after it was cancelled this week due to ‘Tank’ once again finding himself involved with a civil lawsuit over domestic allegations.
It left Paul searching for a new opponent, with it initially suggested that the event may remain on November 14, and that a new opponent would step in on short notice.
That wasn’t to be, with it confirmed that ‘The Problem Child’ will now return in December, but he has revealed the name of a fighter that had agreed to face him on the original date if required.
Posting on Instagram, Paul stated that his former foe Nate Diaz was the man who offered to take the fight, but that it was unable to get finalised.
“Nate Diaz is a f**king G. It isn’t meant to be, but respect for willing to step up on two weeks notice. So many p***ies at the top of this sport with excuses.”
Paul took on former UFC star Diaz back in August 2022, claiming a unanimous decision victory after 10 rounds. Despite Diaz’s apparent eagerness, Paul will continue his search for a December opponent.
