Jake Paul has surprisingly overlooked heavyweight great Mike Tyson when revealing the hardest puncher he has faced to date.
‘The Problem Child’ clashed with Tyson at the AT&T Stadium in Texas back in November 2024, defeating the former undisputed heavyweight champion via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their controversial meeting.
‘Iron Mike’ appeared to be a shadow of his once formidable self against the younger man, as he failed to match the tempo and output set by the former YouTube star in what was his first ring appearance in just shy of twenty years.
Speaking on his own podcast, BS w/ Jake Paul, the 28-year-old surprisingly revealed Tommy Fury as the hardest puncher he has crossed paths with to date, as he claims he ‘couldn’t see’ the Brit’s shots coming when they fought back in 2023.
“I would say Tommy Fury [hit hardest] because it’s the shots you don’t see. Tommy was more tricky with that, but Mike’s punches I could see coming. He was strong, but he didn’t land anything clean. So I honestly didn’t feel Mike Tyson’s full power, but that’s good. You don’t want to.”
Fury handed Paul the first defeat of his career when they met at the Diriyah Arena in February of 2023, although ‘TNT’ did hit the canvas in the eighth and final round of their bout.
Paul is just days away from making his return to the ring as he gears up to do battle with two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center in Miami on December 19.
As for Fury, the 26-year-old from England made his most recent ring appearance in May, extending his unbeaten record to 11-0 with a landslide points win over Bosnia’s Kenan Hanjalic in Budapest.
