Jake Paul finds himself in the midst of an intense legal battle just days after his knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua.
The 28-year-old former YouTube star was stopped in the sixth round of his professional heavyweight clash with ‘AJ’ at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday night.
Paul was floored multiple times by Joshua before the two-time heavyweight champion finally closed the show with a thunderous right hand, leading to ‘The Problem Child’ requiring surgery on a double broken jaw.
There had been some claims during the build-up to the controversial match-up that the fight would be scripted, but these were shut down on multiple occasions by the teams of both fighters.
Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Most Valuable Promotions CEO Nakisa Bidarian revealed that he is pursuing legal action after a number of unnamed individuals claimed that the fight was scripted to ensure Joshua would avoid knocking out Paul.
“Our lawyers are actively going after a number of people, one who claims to be a lawyer himself online… it was a post that had around 200k likes. Basically, the post claimed there was an agreement for AJ not to knock out Jake, but AJ disregarded it and decided to forego his payday to knock out Jake Paul. It’s pretty, pretty astonishing what people will say.”
Paul is expected to be out of action for a number of months as he recovers from jaw surgery, but the 28-year-old from Phoenix has already confirmed that he will be back in 2026 as he sets his sights on securing himself a world title shot at cruiserweight.
