Peter Fury thinks that the upcoming heavyweight fight between Dave Allen and Arslanbek Makhmudov is going to end in a knockout.

Allen is one of the most popular British heavyweights in the game. The straight-talking, down-to-earth fighter has had an up-and-down career with tough losses against big names like Dillian Whyte and Luis Ortiz, but right now is in a good place after stopping Johnny Fisher in their rematch last time out.

That win has earned him a shot at towering Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov on October 11 at the Utilita Arena in Sheffield.

Makhmudov has an impressive record of 19 stoppage wins and 17 of them have come before the start of the fourth round, however, his heart has sometimes come into question as he has been stopped in both of his career losses, once to Guido Vianello and once to Agit Kabayel.

Speaking to ProBoxing Fans, top trainer Fury said that is what he thinks gives Allen the edge.

“This is a Goliath guy but when he gets hit he starts falling apart and you can’t change that. You can be a master, you can be a big puncher, but if you have got a heart like a pea it’s going to remain a pea isn’t it.

“This is a blood and guts game and if you haven’t got it in you can’t train it. Dave Allen has got what he hasn’t got. I’ve got Dave stopping him. Dave is a lot better than you think. And I think Dave is too much for this guy. Dave Allen win with a mid to late round stoppage I reckon.”

Should Allen win, he has been told he can look forward to a huge fight against the likes of Anthony Joshua, Joseph Parker or even Deontay Wilder.
