Shawn Porter has had his final say on the upcoming clash between Brian Norman Jr and Devin Haney.

Norman is set to make the third defence of his WBO world welterweight title against the former undisputed lightweight champion on Saturday November 22 at the ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Haney is setting his sights on becoming a world champion in a third weight classes when he faces the hard-hitting Norman on Saturday night, having captured world honours at lightweight and super-lightweight during his career.

Norman has established himself as one of the most exciting fighters in the welterweight division over the last couple of years, racking up 22 stoppages in 28 victories since entering the paid ranks back in 2018.

Speaking on the latest episode of The Porter Way Podcast, former world champion Porter admitted that he believes Haney will ‘be off’ when he faces Norman this weekend, before claiming that he expects the unbeaten champion to get the job done via knockout.

“I think Brian Norman has a gift in his timing. I believe in that gift that he’s spoke on. I think that Devin is going to be off and I think that he’s going to catch Devin, that’s what I think is going to happen.

“I think Devin is going to be gun shy. I don’t think that he’s going to systematically work that jab the way he used to. I think we’re going to get a lot of what we saw in his fight with Jose Ramirez. And I think that, if anything, he’ll start a level about Ramirez and then he’s gonna slide down that hill and become that fighter again. That’s what my guts telling me.”

Norman will be looking to add yet another highlight reel knockout to his record when he locks horns with his countryman after he racked up a destructive fifth round stoppage win over Jin Sasaki back in June.
