Shawn Porter believes the Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr fight will end in a knockout for one man.

Paul makes the next step in his boxing journey when he takes on former WBC middleweight champion Chavez Jr at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California on June 28.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was last in action in November when he had a controversial fight against a 58-year-old Mike Tyson, who hadn’t competed professionally for nearly two decades.

Paul won the fight by unanimous decision after eight rounds, and now turns his attention to Chavez Jr, who held world honours at 160lbs over a decade ago from 2011 to 2012.

Since losing his belt, Chavez Jr has failed to return to those heights, suffering defeat in a number of bouts he was expected to win, receiving criticism for missing weight in several contests and facing a myriad of problems outside the ropes.

The Mexican insists he is back to his best for this upcoming fight, and now former welterweight champion Porter has given his take. Speaking on The Porter Way Podcast, he revealed his prediction.

“I got Jake Paul by KO.”

Porter then explained how previously seeing Chavez Jr in the gym helped him come to that conclusion.

“He doesn’t have a gas tank. That means you’re not working and training out of the gym. I saw the in gym stuff and you scratch your head like ‘that was it for the day?’

“One day he came into the gym he shadow boxed, I don’t know if he made it a round on the bag, then he packed up and left … I’ve seen some short stuff. I don’t want to disrespect but it will make you scratch your head. The other fighters were laughing like ‘that was it? Why did he show up?'”

Porter isn’t the only one to make his prediction based on seeing Chavez Jr previously train, with Oscar De La Hoya also weighing in on the upcoming fight.
