Two-time world welterweight champion Shawn Porter has revealed the one fighter that he believes would beat former rival Terence Crawford.

‘Bud’ Crawford is just days away from what could be the toughest test of his professional career to date when he clashes with undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Porter faced fellow countryman Crawford in the 36th and final outing of his tenure, suffering a tenth round stoppage defeat to the pound-for-pound star who held the WBO welterweight title at the time.

Despite the best efforts of ‘Showtime’, he struggled to deal with the pace set by the four-division world champion and was floored twice in the tenth before his corner pulled him out of the fight, going on to announce his retirement from the sport shortly after.

In a game of ‘Winner Stays On’ with The Daily Mail, Porter initially backed his former rival Crawford to defeat Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao, but when it came to picking the winner of a fantasy showdown between ‘Bud’ and the legendary Roberto Duran, ‘Showtime’ made no mistake in picking the Panamanian icon to be victorious.

Duran, known by his moniker ‘Hands of Stone’, is widely considered to be one of the greatest fighters to have ever laced up the gloves, proving his outstanding credentials throughout the course of his decorated career.

He rose to stardom during the 1980s where he became a member of ‘The Four Kings’ alongside Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Thomas Hearns, a legendary quarter of fighters that took the sport by storm during that golden era.

Duran would go on to reign as a world champion in four weight classes, including becoming the undisputed lightweight champion back in 1978.
