David Price Weighs In On Potential Trilogy Between Usyk And Dubois

David Price has given his view on whether or not Daniel Dubois has earned a third fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

The Brit is coming off another big win against Fabio Wardley, which saw him pick up the WBO belt and become a two-time world champion.

After a tricky start against Wardley, including being knocked down twice in the first three rounds, Dubois’ boxing fundamentals came to the fore.

He began landing his solid jab and plenty of big right hands, which left the Ipswich man with a swollen eye and bloodied nose, eventually forcing the referee to stop the fight in the 11th round and leading people to ask what might be next for Dubois.

Speaking to Seconds Out, Price was asked whether he would watch a third meeting between ‘DDD’ and Usyk.

“Yeah, why not. Look, heavyweight boxing, you’re always one win away from a big fight if you’re around a certain level. That was a big win. He’s world champion obviously, as well.

“He got knocked out by Usyk in the second fight, but in the first fight, he gave him a good run for his money. Usyk’s running out of people to fight.

“If he’s earned a shot again, then why not, if he’s fighting a kickboxer, if he’s going to fight Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury again, people will watch that fight again, especially coming off Dubois’ big win in that last fight. We’re kind of running out of options for these big title fights when it’s coming to these big names.”

Dubois has lost both previous matches, though during the first in August 2023, he did have Usyk down, only for it to be ruled a low blow. The rematch came back in summer last year and saw him lose again by knockout.
