Ex-pro Kevin Mitchell tells us of his plans to get Eddie Hearn in the ring, and to bring boxing back to schools
Some people were understandably concerned about Kevin Mitchell in retirement. The former British and Commonwealth champion, who also challenged for world titles, was infamous for an erratic lifestyle earlier in his career, so there were worries regarding how he would cope without the discipline of the sport.
Now a trainer and still in shape, Mitchell has confounded the negative expectations. He also has plans aplenty, inspired in part by the tragic loss of his younger brother Vinny earlier this year.
Mitchell wants to set up a celebrity boxing event in Vinny’s memory and for promoter Eddie Hearn to compete on the card. Kevin is also passionate about bringing boxing back into schools.
