Not everyone sees eye to eye on what would happen should Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury ever step into the ring together.

The fight between the two British rivals has been brewing for many years but has never been able to materialise. Fury is coming off his fist career loss to the now undisputed world heavyweight king Oleksandr Usyk – but will have a chance to get revenge in the rematch on December 21.

The same man has also handed Joshua back-to-back defeats and left him without a world title of his own. ‘AJ’ has done a good job of rebuilding, however, with a string of knockout wins against Robert Helenius, Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou.

The most recent of those two victories came in much more emphatic fashion than when Fury fought the same men, which is why some believe he is now well placed to beat ‘The Gypsy King’.

Speaking on Froch on Fighting retired former world champions Carl Froch and Ricky Hatton have been discussing the match-up. ‘The Cobra’ has recently made a U-turn on his original prediction and now thinks that Joshua will knock out Fury, which is what he put to Hatton who disagreed.

“Erm, no, I wouldn’t say so, not quite, I think he might still know enough to keep out the away.”

What happens when Fury rematches Usyk will no doubt have a large bearing on how people see a potential fight with Joshua going. Meanwhile, ‘AJ’ has the chance to become a three-time champion when he faces newly elevated IBF champion Daniel Dubois in September.
