Top Trainer Robert Garcia Names The 4 Current World Champions Floyd Mayweather Would Still Beat

Robert Garcia has been assessing which current world champions Floyd Mayweather could still beat if he returned to professional boxing.

Though the American fighter retired some years ago with a famous record of 50 wins and 0 losses, he has returned several times to the ring for exhibition bouts. The most recent was last weekend in Mexico against John Gotti III, and he showed he still had plenty of skills and stamina by largely being on top throughout the contest.

Garcia told ESNEWS that Mayweather could still beat three out of the four current welterweight champions.

“Whatever you say, whatever anybody wants to think, Mayweather could, because he’s still active, he’s still in shape, he could fight real fights.

Not real fighters like Vergil [Ortiz], Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, but Mayweather could still beat a lot of champions. Maybe at welterweight, he could beat most of the champions right now. He’ll probably beat [WBA regular champion] Eimantas Stanionis, [WBC champion] Mario Barrios, [WBO champion] Brian Norman Jr.”

Garcia also believes Mayweather could potentially still win a title as high up as middleweight.

“Mayweather can’t fight a solid guy at 154 or 160. He could probably fight the winner of Danny Garcia and [WBA middleweight champion] Erislandy Lara, he could fight them and he could become champion, I think he could actually beat one of those.”

It’s highly unlikely fans will ever see ‘TBE’ come out of retirement with Mayweather focusing on helping bring through the next crop of stars.
