Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney look set to do battle in a highly-anticipated rematch.

The two men met back in April 2023, in a clash that drew a lot of attention in the build up for the pre-fight antics of Garcia, with some onlookers believing that he wasn’t in the right mindset to compete.

This looked to be strengthened when he missed weight by nearly four pounds, making him ineligible to challenge for Haney’s WBC super-lightweight crown.

The performance from ‘King Ry’ shocked the world though, as he dropped Haney multiple times on his way to a points victory, but the controversy wasn’t done yet, as Garcia then failed a drugs test and the result was subsequently changed to a no contest.

Garcia is currently serving a ban and is eligible to return in April, where the collision course for a rematch with Haney is set to begin. Both men are expected to first compete in separate bouts, before then meeting in their rematch later in the year.

With the rematch now in the pipeline, the boxing world has began to offer their predictions for the bout, with newly-crowned Ring Trainer Of The Year Robert Garcia offering his take.

Garcia currently trains the likes of Bam Rodriguez and Vergil Ortiz, and has also worked with fighters such as Anthony Joshua, Nonito Donaire and Brandon Rios during his career, and he explained to ESNEWS how he sees the rematch between ‘King Ry’ and Haney going.

“I think Haney could beat him. Ryan is so fast and so strong that he could end it with one punch. But do I think Haney could? Yes he could.

“He has to correct a lot of things that he did but does he have a chance, yes I do believe he could beat him. I think I still favour Ryan, but do I think Haney could pull it off? Yes he could.”

The boxing world will discover later this year just whether Garcia can be victorious in the rematch, as he looks to get his career back on track following his year on the sidelines due to his failed test.
