Rolly Romero has shared his thoughts on the controversial upcoming showdown between former rival Gervonta Davis and Jake Paul.

It was announced last week that reigning WBA lightweight champion ‘Tank’ would lock horns with Paul on Friday November 14 at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Davis had been pencilled in to defend his WBA world title against fellow countryman Lamont Roach Jr for the second time, but these plans were shelved after ‘Tank’ instead opted to face Paul.

One man that has experience in sharing the ring with Davis is Romero, who suffered the first defeat of his career to the unbeaten 30-year-old when they clashed at the Barclays Center in New York City several years ago.

Speaking to Fight Hub TV, ‘Rolly’ shared his thoughts on the upcoming match-up between Davis and Paul, as he admits he is unsure whether the size of ‘The Problem Child’ will be too much or whether Davis’ thunderous punching power could be the difference, if in fact the fight is competitive rather than being an exhibition.

“I mean a lot of things can happen but I mean Jake Paul might be too big for him, or Tank might crack him. Like I said, is it an exhibition? We don’t know if they’ll throw at each other or not. I can’t give an opinion because I don’t know what’s going on.”

Paul has received criticism for opting to face Davis next, a man that stands at eight inches shorter than him and weighed in at over 60 pounds lighter than him when he faced Roach back in March.

‘The Problem Child’ made his most recent ring appearance in June, defeating Mexico’s former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr via unanimous decision at the conclusion of their ten-round cruiserweight bout in Anaheim, California.
