Jake Paul remains a huge draw and a targeted opponent for many boxers, and now Roy Jones Jr has admitted what it would take for him to enter the ring with the former YouTuber.

Paul is known around the world as an upstart boxer who has had just 12 fights and lost only one. Most of his opponents have been carefully chosen and included retired or ageing mixed martial artists stars crossing over to boxing, with his one loss coming against a genuine professional in Tommy Fury.

Most famously he has also shared the ring with the youngest ever world heavyweight champion and boxing legend Mike Tyson.

That fight in November saw Paul, 27, cruise to an easy points victory over Tyson, who is over 30 years his senior and has long suffered with health issues.

Jones Jr was on commentary for that eight-round bout in Texas, and was the last man to fight Tyson back in an exhibition in 2021.

He has said that he thinks that were he to fight Paul, it would be a bigger event than Paul versus Tyson.

Speaking to Covers.com, Jones Jr also admitted there is one thing that would get him in the ring with Paul, and that is a sizeable sum of money.

“I was the last person to fight Mike, so why would I take anything less than $20 million? Don’t waste my time.”

He then added that the difference between him and Tyson is that he still has his legs.

“Jake’s a big kid – he’s a power puncher – but I just feel that my legs at 55 are much better than Mike’s legs at 58. I used to use my legs when I fought; Mike never really used his legs when he fought. My legs are in better shape, and I could get to Jake a bit easier than Mike did.”

Since the fight with Tyson. Paul has had to deny it was scripted and is now being linked with contests with the likes of Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
