Roy Jones Jr Has No Doubt Who Wins Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn: “He Hits Harder”

Chris Eubank Jr vs Conor Benn appears to be back on the table.

The two fighters were set to meet in October 2022, before a failed drugs test for Benn in the days leading up to the fight forced it to be scrapped.

Benn has since been involved in a constant battle with the British Boxing Board of Control as he looks to clear his name and return to action, though he has managed to have two fights in the United States.

Despite the problems, it looks like the match-up is on the verge of being agreed again over two years later, after they were involved in a heated confrontation in the ring following Eubank’s win over Kamil Szeremeta in October.

It was a heavily criticised performance from Eubank, who was working with his third trainer in as many fights. He was trained by Johnathon Banks for that bout, having partnered with Terence Crawford‘s coach Brian ‘BoMac’ McIntyre for his win over Liam Smith.

The relationship with McIntyre came after Eubank lost the first meeting with Smith, where boxing legend Roy Jones Jr was in his corner. They had worked together since 2020, before parting ways after the defeat to Smith.

Despite going their separate ways, there are few who know Eubank as well as Jones Jr, and he has given his prediction for a fight against Benn when speaking to The Podghost Podcast.

“It’s going to be hard for Benn to beat Chris Eubank because Chris Eubank is bigger, he’s faster, he hits harder, he’s had more experiences in really big fights. I don’t see how you’re going to beat him.”

Jones Jr has also given his thoughts on the upcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury, and he didn’t hesitate to pick a winner.
