Tyson Fury‘s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk is one of the best fights left to happen this year.
The pair battled it out for undisputed honours back in May and it was former cruiserweight king Usyk who came out on top after 12 close rounds.
He had a magnificent ninth in which he managed to catch Fury with a big shot that saw him take a count from the referee. ‘The Gypsy King’ narrowly lost out on the cards come the conclusion of the contest.
Both men are now in camp and preparing to do it all again back in Saudi Arabia, though only three of the four belts will be on the line this time around after Usyk vacated the IBF in order to honour this rematch.
Speaking to Betway, Jones was asked if Fury could win the rematch and he said no given what happened in the first fight.
“I don’t really think so. It could happen, but in that fight, Usyk found out that he could hurt Tyson. He knew that coming in, but he’s found out now that he can hurt Fury for sure. The smaller man now knows he can hurt the bigger man.”
He admitted ‘The Gypsy King’ could make changes – which he proved when fighting Deontay Wilder for the second and third time when he stepped to his man and fought on the front – but still foresees a Usyk win.
“Usyk is favourite for the rematch and now here is the thing – Tyson Fury is a very smart guy and is really good at making adjustments, but Usyk, in my humble opinion, comes through him again.
“Now that Usyk knows he can hurt and beat Fury, he could now underestimate him in the rematch. But we all know Fury has been knocked down seven times.”
