Hall of Fame great Roy Jones Jr has sent a message out to Jake Paul after his showdown with Gervonta Davis was pulled.
‘The Problem Child’ was set to face WBA lightweight world champion Davis on Friday November 14 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, but their controversial match-up has now been cancelled after ‘Tank’ was named in a civil lawsuit regarding serious domestic allegations.
Paul now finds himself on the hunt for a brand new opponent but has been granted some additional time to prepare after the event was pushed back to December.
One man that has spoken out and shared his thoughts on the situation is four-weight world champion Jones, who has sent a stern message out to ‘The Problem Child’.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Jones claimed that Paul ‘knew what he signed up for’ when he finalised a deal to face ‘Tank,’ who has had similar accusations in the past.
“Jake Paul knew what he was before he signed the fight. This ain’t the first time he had battery against a woman. You knew what it was when you first signed the fight. So don’t get mad and cuss him out and talk bad about him now. You knew what it was when you signed up for it. Come on bro. You know what I’m saying? Let’s not do that.”
Davis now finds himself in a difficult position once again. As for Paul, the 28-year-old is now said to be weighing up a number of potential opponents, with an announcement expected to be made in due course.
