The legendary Roy Jones Jr has revealed who he believes is the greatest fighter of all time.
The Florida-native entered the paid ranks after competing at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul where he finished with a light-middleweight silver medal, though nearly everyone watching agreed that he was deserving of the gold.
Jones took the sport by storm during the 1990s, winning world titles in several weight classes during this era whilst racking up wins over the likes of Mike McCallum, James Toney and Bernard Hopkins.
Whilst the bulk of his success came during his time at super-middleweight and light-heavyweight, Jones would later make the move up to heavyweight where he dethroned WBA world champion John Ruiz in March of 2003.
In a feature with The Daily Mail, Jones was tasked with ranking some of the best fighters to have ever graced the sport, naming none other than the late-great Muhammad Ali as the greatest fighter ever in his opinion.
Ali is widely considered to be the best boxer of all time, an opinion that is shared by millions of fans and analysts around the world.
‘The Greatest’ become a holder of the world heavyweight championship on three occasions throughout the course of his storied 21-year professional career, producing legacy-defining wins over the likes of Joe Frazier, Sonny Liston and George Foreman to name just a few.
His career was cut short in 1981 after his health began to deteriorate, although his outstanding legacy lives on and has inspired many young fighters over the years.
