Roy Jones Jr Spotted One Major Change In Mike Tyson Between Their Fight And Jake Paul Loss

Roy Jones Jr and Jake Paul are the last two men to have fought Mike Tyson since he retired in 2005.

Multi-weight champion Jones fought ‘Iron Mike’ in a bout named Lockdown Knockdown. It was an exhibition contest in 2020 sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission and was scored as a split draw.

This month, Tyson returned to the ring once more at 58 years of age and having had a health scare in the summer which delayed the fight from the original date in July.

His opponent was the 27-year-old Paul, who has now had just 12 fights including one loss to Tommy Fury. The match-up with Tyson was eight two-minute rounds and ended with a wide points win for Paul after Tyson barely threw a punch.

Speaking to ALL THE SMOKE FIGHT, Jones Jr outlined the issue he saw that held ‘The Baddest Man On The Planet’ back.

“The first thing was his legs didn’t look the same as when he fought me. He may have had a knee injury, I’m not sure, his legs just didn’t look the same. Four years could have taken a toll on him, we don’t know. Mike said he went through so much he nearly died.

“I promise you his legs were not the same hence he could not attack Jake as freely and often as he attacked me. He attacked me pretty much all night long.”

He then claimed that if Tyson had been fit, he would have won.

“Had he been the same person as [when he fought me], he definitely would have beat Jake.”

In the aftermath, Paul claimed that he never once felt the fearsome power of Tyson and that instead Fury hits harder.
