Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn are set to reignite one of British boxing’s fiercest modern rivalries, and now Roy Jones Jr has given his verdict on the rematch.

These two generational rivals came together for the first time back in April after more than two years of heated and controversial buildup.

There had long been a war of words, as well as failed drug tests, an egg slap, and Eubank Jr missed weight the day before the fight, but did come in under the fight day rehydration limit.

However, it was Benn, the naturally smaller man who came up in weight, who started better. He was aggressive from the first bell, but Eubank Jr’s size eventually began to show as he imposed himself and got on top, eventually coming out as a unanimous points winner after 12 full rounds.

Their highly anticipated rematch has now been scheduled to take place on November 15 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

Speaking on Froch on Fighting, Eubank Jr’s former coach Jones Jr was asked who he thinks wins the second fight.

“Hard to say, man. I like Chris because he was the bigger fighter but Conor put on a hell of a show last time. If he can look at his tape, go make adjustments, he can make a difference, so we don’t know yet.”

As Benn seeks redemption and Eubank Jr looks to back up his first win, this fight could again be an all-out war that leaves both men needing plenty of time to recover, just like the first bout.
