Roy Jones Jr Has No Doubt Who Wins A Prime Lennox Lewis vs Oleksandr Usyk Fight

When Roy Jones Jr talks boxing, people have got to listen.

The four-weight world champion was a pound-for-pound king during his career, and has now become one of the best minds in the sport when it comes to discussing the sweet science.

His latest expert insight has come whilst talking to MailSport Boxing for the ‘Winner Stays On’ series, where Jones Jr was asked to decide who would win certain fantasy match-ups between heavyweight fighters in their prime.

Beginning with Deontay Wilder taking on Dillian Whyte, he had Whyte coming out on top, before then defeating Frank Bruno and Derek Chisora. Whyte was next matched with Anthony Joshua, with Jones picking ‘AJ’ – but he had the Brit losing to Mike Tyson.

Tyson vs. Lewis was the next match-up offered, a repeat of their battle in 2002 which Lewis won by eighth round knockout. Jones went for the same outcome, picking Lewis to defeat Tyson, and then having him also defeat Joe Frazier, George Foreman, Wladimir Klitschko and Tyson Fury.

Then came a Lewis vs. Oleksandr Usyk bout to which he gave his answer.

“Lennox Lewis.”

Despite picking Lewis to beat Usyk, Jones Jr didn’t have him as the last man standing, as he chose Muhammad Ali to beat ‘The Lion.’

Usyk will be hoping he doesn’t come out on the losing end to a Brit in reality when he faces Tyson Fury in their rematch on December 21, and ‘The Gypsy King’ has made a big decision on whether his father John will remain in his corner for the bout.
