Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight week is officially underway.
One of the biggest cards of the year finally takes place on Friday when Tyson and Paul meet over eight two-minute rounds at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The event sees boxing legend Tyson taking part in his first professional contest for nearly two decades against Youtuber-turned-boxer Paul, who prior to 2020 had never stepped foot inside a professional ring.
While Tyson’s last professional fight may have come in 2005, he did have an exhibition contest against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr in 2020, which ended in a split draw after eight rounds.
Ahead of the fight this Friday, Jones has summed up the boxing ability of Paul in just four words whilst talking to JaisSportsTakes.
“Jake has gotten good.”
That statement may be true, as Paul currently has a record of 10-1, with his most notable wins coming against former MMA fighters such as Anderson Silva, Nate Diaz, Tyron Woodley and most recently Mike Perry back in July.
However, in an interview with FightHype Jones still believes Tyson will be ‘too much’ for the younger man.
“I think it’s a great fight and a great marketing situation as well because a lot of people want to see it. It’s a young lion and an old lion. It’s a great situation for them. It gives Jake a chance with Mike being as old as he is. I think it’s a great opportunity for both fighters but I still think Mike is gonna be a little bit too much for Jake.”
Paul vs Tyson takes place on November 15 and will be streamed live on Netflix.
