Tyson Fury is officially back in training ahead of his return to the ring in 2026.
The former world heavyweight champion has been out of action for more than a year. He retired from the sport in January 2025 following two back-to-back losses to the great Oleksandr Usyk, both on points.
Although Fury has contested those decisions, few others in the boxing world argue with the Ukrainian’s wins, the first of which made him the undisputed heavyweight champion on top of already being the undisputed cruiserweight ruler.
It had been hoped by many boxing fans that Fury would have been able to negotiate a fight with his British rival, Anthony Joshua, who also had more than a year out of the ring following his loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2025, but returned in December to beat Jake Paul.
As of yet, a fight between Fury and Joshua has not happened, but it could be on the cards this year, although first ‘The Gypsy King ‘ will need a tune-up or two, and many names have been mentioned so far.
One of them is Arslanbek Makmuhdov, and speaking to Boxing King Media, the Russian was asked what he knew about the potential fight links between him and Fury.
“I hear nothing just I see some time people talking, I think it’s just like people talking, but of course, if you ask me, of course, I want this fight, which is for me a dream fight because Tyson Fury is one of the best heavyweights in history I think, for me. It’s a pleasure to fight against big names like Tyson Fury.”
Makmuhdov was last out against Dave Allen when he weathered an early storm to get a points win last year, though before that, he was stopped by Agit Kabayel.
