Fans may only ever see Terence Crawford back in the ring if he can land a fight against Saul ‘Canelo‘ Alvarez.
A clash against the unified super-middleweight champion would represent a further two-weight division jump from Crawford’s debut at 154 in his last outing.
Despite that gap in size, after he beat Israil Madrimov to become a four-weight champion in August ‘Bud’ confirmed his main motivation left in the sport was to face the Mexican superstar.
Speaking to Say Cheese TV, controversial pay-per-view fighter Ryan Garcia, who is currently serving a doping ban for his a failed test in his fight against Devin Haney, advised ‘Bud’ to stay well clear of Canelo.
“No don’t do that [Crawford]. Terence Crawford is not like that. Terence Crawford is an overhyped bum. I’m sorry but somebody has got to say it, you’re an overhyped bum I’m look at the camera right now, you f**king suck bro.
Stop acting like you’re like that, stop stealing boxing’s money, wasting everybody’s money, you’re not entertaining, you’re boring as f**k. Come see me in the ring if you think I’m talking s**t, I can do it anytime bro.”
Garcia called out Crawford to face him instead and was confident he would find a way to get to the pound-for-pound star.
“I could definitely see Crawford, what you mean? I was one of the best fighters in the amateurs bro, he was too, I’ve seen man fighters like him. I don’t care if he can take away my left hook, I can find a way to get him. He’s not that good, he gets hit a lot, he gets hit and gets wobbled, he’s not untouchable.”
Garcia has also called on Riyadh Season’s Turki Alalshikh to make the Haney rematch, for which he has promised to take drugs test everyday. Meanwhile, Canelo returns to the ring on September 14 against Edgar Berlanga.
