Ryan Garcia has predicted the upcoming mega-fight between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford.

The pound-for-pound stars are set to clash in a huge showdown later this year, with WBC, WBA and WBO super-middleweight champion Canelo first in action on May 3 looking to once again become undisputed at 168lbs when he faces IBF champion William Scull.

‘Bud’ Crawford is bidding to become a five-weight world champion against the Mexican superstar, but faces undoubtedly the toughest test of his career as he prepares to step up two whole weight classes in the process.

One fighter who has shown an interest in the huge showdown is Garcia, who was trained by Eddy Reynoso between 2018 and 2021. ‘King Ry’ was set to reunite with Reynoso, but that has been put on hold due to Alvarez’s fight in May.

Speaking on Ring Champs with AK & Barak, Garcia made no mistake in backing the Mexican icon to prevail against Crawford, as he claims the American ‘cannot beat Canelo’ at 168.

“He cannot beat Canelo, nah, no way. I mean I don’t see him beating Canelo. He didn’t look that strong against Madrimov, to be honest, and Madrimov’s not even big.

The thing with Canelo is he’s mastered his style, he ain’t gotta change it up but he’s mastered it and he understands what’s going on in the ring at all times. I just don’t see Terence beating him, I don’t.”

Garcia returns to action 24 hours before Canelo’s clash with Scull, as ‘King Ry’ takes on Rolly Romero at Times Square in New York on May 2.
