Ryan Garcia has revealed who he believes is the best fighter on the planet.

The 26-year-old from Los Angeles, California Is just weeks away from making his long awaited return to the sport having served a one year doping suspension.

Garcia is set to face former WBA super-lightweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero at the iconic Times Square in New York City on May 2, with former foe Devin Haney also due to appear on the undercard as he faces former unified super-lightweight champion Jose Benavidez.

‘King Ryan’ then has his sights set on facing Haney in a rematch later this year, although both fighters must come through their respective bouts on May 2 before this can be considered.

As he looks to get back to making his own case as one of the best active fighters, in an interview DAZN Boxing Garcia was asked to name his current pound-for-pound number 1 fighter and went with Terence Crawford.

‘Bud’ Crawford has had an exceptional professional career to date, where the 37-year-old from Omaha, Nebraska has won world titles in four weight classes as well as the undisputed championship at both super-lightweight and welterweight.

Crawford is now preparing to face fellow pound-for-pound star Canelo Alvarez in a mega-fight later this year, as he bids to become a five-weight world champion and potentially a three-weight undisputed champion, as Canelo prepares to add the IBF super-middleweight title to his unified WBC, WBA and WBO titles when he faces William Scull in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on May 3.

Despite the high praise for Crawford, Garcia fully expects Canelo to beat him come September.
