Ryan Garcia Shares His ‘Honest’ Verdict On Mike Tyson’s Performance Against Jake Paul

Ryan Garcia has shared his honest view on Mike Tyson‘s display against Jake Paul.

Tyson and Paul met earlier this month in a controversial battle at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in what was the first ever live boxing event broadcast on Netflix.

In the build-up, ‘Iron Mike’ shared a number of intense training clips that led some fans to believe he may turn back the clock and produce a performance to remember, but it wasn’t to be the case.

At 58-years-old, Tyson struggled to compete with 27-year-old Paul, as ‘The Problem Child’ claimed a comfortable unanimous decision win after their eight two-minute round contest.

One man that was vocal in the build-up was Garcia, who made it clear that he was backing Tyson and wanted to see the boxing legend claim the victory.

He has now given his honest take on his idol’s performance whilst speaking to The Ariel Helwani Show, saying it’s what he expected.

“Honestly, it was probably what was expected. Mike is up in age and didn’t have his balance correct. It did seem like Jake wasn’t going at his full ability, but it was alright. It was what was expected.”

Garcia is currently serving a one-year ban after failing a drugs test surrounding his fight with Devin Haney in April, but he has revealed he would be willing to take on Paul next, naming the one condition that would need to happen for the bout.
