Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are just several months away from their monumental showdown.

It was announced at the beginning of May that the pound-for-pound stars would lock horns on Saturday September 13 at an unconfirmed venue in the United States, although Las Vegas appears set to be the location of choice.

Canelo will make the first defence of his undisputed super-middleweight championship which he captured in Riyadh last month when he defeated former IBF champion William Scull via unanimous decision, becoming the first fighter in boxing history to achieve this feat on two separate occasions.

One man who has shown an interest in the upcoming battle of the pound-for-pound stars is Ryan Garcia, who is a former stablemate of Canelo.

Speaking on Say Cheese TV after watching Crawford’s last outing against Israil Madrimov, Garcia weighed in on the mega-fight between Canelo and Crawford, where he appears to send a warning to ‘Bud’ about stepping in the ring with the Mexican icon.

“No don’t do that [Crawford]. Terence Crawford is not like that. Terence Crawford is an overhyped bum. I’m sorry but somebody has got to say it, you’re an overhyped bum I’m look at the camera right now, you f**king suck bro.

Stop acting like you’re like that, stop stealing boxing’s money, wasting everybody’s money, you’re not entertaining, you’re boring as f**k.

Garcia followed this up with his prediction which he posted on social media.

“Canelo KOs this guy for fun.”

Should Crawford be victorious over Canelo, the 37-year-old from Omaha would write himself into the boxing history books once again, becoming the first male three-weight undisputed champion in the history of the sport.
