Ryan Garcia has shared his final prediction ahead of the controversial heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul.
Two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua will lock horns with Paul over eight-rounds at the Kaseya Center in Miami tonight, the latest high-profile boxing event to be shown on Netflix.
‘AJ’ is set to make his first ring appearance since he suffered a shock stoppage defeat to countryman and former IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois in September 2024.
Paul has made the most of his preparations to face Joshua which have included sparring sessions with the likes of Lawrence Okolie and Frank Sanchez.
Speaking on social media, former WBC interim lightweight champion Garcia revealed that he is backing Joshua to be victorious over Paul as he claims ‘The Problem Child’ is not a ‘good fighter’.
“My prediction for the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua fight. I actually kind of find it a little disrespectful, I’m going to say this for the AJ vs. Jake Paul fight, I got $50,000 on Anthony Joshua winning.
“I’m only going to win $5,500 for the bet because he’s such a favourite. I don’t care. The reason why I’m doing it [is] because there’s no chance that Jake Paul can ever win, he’s not a good fighter compared to AJ, who’s just got too much experience and I’m betting it right here.”
‘AJ’ weighed in at a whopping 26.8lbs heavier than Paul at the weigh-in on Thursday evening, coming in at just under the 245lbs limit that had been set for the 36-year-old Brit.
