Ryan Garcia Names His Next Opponent: “Fight Coming Soon”

Ryan Garcia appears to have revealed his next opponent as he gears up for his long-awaited return to the ring.

The 27-year-old former WBC interim lightweight champion is currently recovering from hand surgery although he is expected to make his return to the ring during the early stages of 2026, if not sooner.

Garcia suffered the second defeat of his professional career back in May when he was beaten by fellow countryman Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero at Times Square in New York City, falling short in his attempt at becoming the WBA Regular welterweight champion.

In what was his first ring appearance since that controversial meeting with Devin Haney in April 2024, ‘King Ry’ was floored in the second round by ‘Rolly’ who put on arguably the best performance of his career to date to run out as the winner via unanimous decision.

Speaking to Fight Hype, Garcia revealed that he is set to face ‘Rolly’ in a rematch next as he hints at an announcement on this is set to be made ‘soon’.

“Yeah, look out for it because it’s coming soon.”

Romero was recently elevated to full WBA world welterweight champion, after former title holder Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis opted to vacate his crown to make the move up to super-welterweight.

Should a rematch with his fellow countryman be next for Garcia, the 27-year-old could finally be given his opportunity to fight for a world title and redeem himself after what has been a frustrating few years for the California-native.
