Billy Joe Saunders Reacts To ‘Embarrassing’ Chris Eubank Jr Missing Weight For Conor Benn Fight

The fallout continues after Chris Eubank Jr. missed weight against Conor Benn.

Eubank Jr and Benn meet at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, but during Friday’s weigh-in, Eubank Jr narrowly missed the 160lb weight limit, resulting in a hefty fine.

One man who knows Eubank Jr well is Billy Joe Saunders, after the two men fought back in in November 2014, with Saunders winning by split decision.

Saunders has now given his take on Eubank Jr missing weight, telling BoxNation that it is ‘an embarrassment’ to not be able to make it.

“All the talk yesterday about what’s pain and professionalism. I’ve never missed weight in my life. It’s the first time he’s missed weight so clearly it was a lot of pain and it shows that he’s struggling.

“He’s tried to get down to that weight and psychologically that’s got to be very good for Benn. He’s tried his best and clearly it was just too much to cut. It’s one of those things when you’re struggling for weight you’re struggling for weight and he’s clearly struggling.

“I was always taught by Jimmy Tibbs It’s an embarrassment if you don’t make weight. To miss it how he’s missed it, that’s nothing. You should be going through enough pain barrier to hit that. Everything he said about his own psychological mind is clearly a load of rubbish. So he’s not mentally strong at the moment.”

It hasn’t taken Benn long to react to Eubank Jr’s weight miss either, after he took to social media to share his thoughts.
