Malik Scott Names The Two Heavyweights Better Than Oleksandr Usyk And Muhammad Ali

Mailk Scott feels that Oleksandr Usyk and Muhammad Ali pale in comparison to two other heavyweights.

Scott competed as a heavyweight 42 times during his own career, but came up short whenever stepping up, suffering defeats to the likes of Deontay Wilder, Derek Chisora and Luis Ortiz.

He has since began operating as a trainer, spending a number of fights in the corner of Wilder, whilst also working with fighters such as Gerald Washington and Gilberto Ramirez.

The current king of the heavyweight division is Usyk, who has become a two-time undisputed champion in the banner division after victories over Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois.

Ali was also undisputed on multiple occasions, with his battles against fellow legends like George Foreman and Joe Frazier regarded as some of the most iconic fights of all time.

Despite the success that Usyk and Ali have achieved, Scott feels two men are even better, after he was asked by ESNews about who would be on his Mount Rushmore and two heavyweights made the list.

“Lennox Lewis, Larry Holmes.”

Lewis dominated the heavyweight division throughout the 1990s, with his best victory coming against Evander Holyfield in 1999 to become undisputed champion.

He ended his career with wins against Mike Tyson and Vitali Klitschko, finishing with 41 wins from his 44 fights, 32 victories by knockout.

Holmes defended his world title on 20 occasions during a seven-year reign from 1978 to 1985, with his highest profile win arguably coming when he defeated Ali in the boxing legend’s penultimate fight in October 1980.
