Former super welterweight champion Sergio Mora has cast his mind over the upcoming showdown between Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder.

This fight rather came out of leftfield but makes sense given where both men are at. Chisora has been looking for a big but beatable name for his 50th and potentially final fight for a while.

Wilder, on the other hand is looking to get back to winning ways against a notable rival, having lost four of his last five against the likes of Tyson Fury, Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.

Speaking on DAZN, former fighter turned pundit Mora broke down the contest.

“I love that fight, it makes more sense than Usyk against Wilder. He should be fighting someone who’s already on his side, where he lost or has already been knocked out. He’s a name but is not on the top level. And Derek Chisora fits all those boxes even though he is on a three with win streak.”

He then predicted how it might go and sided with ‘Del Boy.’

“Wilder has a puncher’s chance, Chisora has that experience. The better natural figure is Chisora. Wilder is just a freak of nature with the power and the size and everything else. I love that fight.

“I would actually favour Chisora to do something great in that fight, not only the momentum but the style. He’s a better fighter than Wilder. Wilder is not polished. Wilder came a long way with just raw power and size.”

The fight is set to take place in April, and the winner could well go on to fight Usyk for three of the four world titles.
