There are few better placed to predict a high-level boxing contest than Shakur Stevenson. The next one up is Oleksandr Usyk‘s rematch with Tyson Fury.

Usyk bested Fury over twelve rounds back in May to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis. A good start, a statement ninth round in which he had the Brit almost out on his feet and a strong finish saw him only scrape a split decision win on the cards.

The pair have touched down in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for the return fight this week, with Fury adamant he has what it takes to reverse the result. Many believe he will be pushing for a stoppage to take it out of the judges’ hands – a plan that has been successful for him in past rematches.

Can he be the first to topple the elite Ukrainian, who has also been undisputed at cruiserweight before moving up? Stevenson thinks yes. Speaking on X, formerly Twitter, the pound-for-pound star and three-weight world champion backed the Brit.

“I like Fury for the second fight … Usyk [is] so great though bro, it’s so hard going against him over the course of a 12 round fight. I’m like 55-45 Fury on this one. All Fury gotta do is come in shape and stay focused for the entire fight!”

Fury has stated that, should he win, he will fight a trilogy with Usyk to once and for all prove who is the greatest heavyweight of a generation.
