Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury are set to meet again in December after an enthralling back and forth encounter earlier this year.

That night it was Usyk who walked away with all four heavyweight belts having handed ‘The Gypsy King’ his first ever career defeat.

In a fight that changed momentum on a number of occasions seeing both men have success, there aren’t too many fans upset at the prospect of seeing them do it all over again.

Speaking to Boxing News, three-weight world champion Shakur Stevenson believes Fury had the first fight won but his conditioning might have let him down.

“I think that Fury had that fight won, I don’t know about the conditioning but I thought he kind of slowed down and he did that Usyk took his opportunity, hurt him, and took control of the fight.

Truthfully it could have gone either way. If they had given it to Fury then probably nobody would have been mad. If they made it a draw then probably nobody would have been mad.”

In the rematch Stevenson see’s the Brit avenging his loss and regaining his status as the number one heavyweight.

“I think it’s going to go the other way the next fight. I think that Fury wins.

I think that the next time Fury fights him, if he knows he can do what he did early in the fight then I think he’ll continue to do that and a little bit more in the next fight.”

Usyk vs Fury 2 takes place on December 21 in Saudi Arabia as part of Riyadh Season.
