Shakur Stevenson Sums Up Gervonta Davis In Just One Word

Shakur Stevenson and Gervonta Davis have rarely seen eye to eye in boxing.

Both men have been linked to a fight with one another for a number of years, but it has never been able to materialise, with each party firing shots at the other due to the contest failing to come to fruition.

Stevenson is the reigning WBC lightweight champion, having most recently defended his belt against Josh Padley in Saudi Arabia in February, with some fans hoping that could lead to a unification showdown with ‘Tank.’

Those hopes were seemingly dashed in March when Davis could only manage a controversial draw in a WBA lightweight title defence against Lamont Roach, with the two now expected to rematch this summer.

It means that Stevenson will instead take on his mandatory challenger, as he will go up against William Zepeda in New York in July, but that hasn’t stopped him continuing his feud with Davis.

In a clip from The Danza Project, Stevenson was asked to sum up some of his boxing rivals in just one word, and he had no hesitation when asked to describe Davis.

“Short.”

Stevenson is billed at 5 foot 8 inches, while Davis is 5 foot 5 inches, with that size coming in to play when he had his fight with Roach last Month, with the challenger able to neutralise a lot of the offense of ‘Tank.’

Davis will be hoping to right those wrongs when the rematch with Roach is due to happen later this year, and Stevenson has also offered his prediction for that match-up.
