Hall of Famer Shane Mosley has weighed in on the upcoming heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul.
Two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua is set to do battle with Paul over eight rounds on Friday December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida.
The controversial heavyweight clash has sent shockwaves throughout the sport in recent weeks, with many questioning whether Paul will be taking it a step too far when he clashes with ‘AJ’ later this month.
One man that has been up close and personal with ‘The Problem Child’ during his professional career is retired three-weight world champion Mosley, who has been in Paul’s corner for two of his bouts.
In an interview with Fight Hype, Mosley admitted that he believes Joshua will be ‘too big’ for Paul although he goes on to say ‘anything can happen’.
“I don’t have any thoughts about that. The only thing I can think of is Anthony Joshua is just too big for him. I mean, I can’t see another way but anything happens in fighting, in boxing, and Jake wants to beat Anthony Joshua. I wouldn’t even try to predict the fight.”
Joshua is yet to make a return to action since he suffered the fourth defeat of his professional career to former IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois back in September 2024.
As for Paul. the 28-year-old from Phoenix picked up the 12th win of his career on June 28 when he defeated former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr at the conclusion of their cruiserweight bout in California.
