Daniel Dubois is soon to defend his IBF world heavyweight title for a second time when he faces Joseph Parker.

This is an intriguing clash between two of the most in-form men in the banner division right now.

Parker is a former world champion who hasn’t held a belt since he was defeated in a unification fight with Anthony Joshua back in 2018. Since the, he has lost to the likes of Dillian Whyte and Joe Joyce, but in his most recent fights has put together a fine win streak.

In December last year, he beat Deontay Wilder over 12 rounds, managing to stay out of the way of the American’s once famed right hand. Parker then bested Zhilei Zhang also over the distance to set up this world title shot with Dubois.

Dubos has also lost to Joyce but in his last three fights, he has stopped Jarrell Miller, Fillip Hrgovic – which soon after saw him elevated to full IBF champion – then last time out in September he knocked out Anthony Joshua in his first defence of the belt.

Speaking to Seconds Out, former world heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs gave his view on the fight.

“Parker is something else. He’s hard to handle, he took his losses like a man and bounced right back. Parker was the first guy really of this current era that would take a loss and come right back and get a win, so I’m super impressed with him.

Can he beat Dubois? He possibly can, but it ain’t easy. I would have said Parker all day long before but Dubois changed it up, he got better. “

Whoever wins the fight could well go into an undisputed contest with the winner of the fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on December 21.
