Shawn Porter has made his prediction for the big heavyweight clash between Daniel Dubois and Joseph Parker.

This intriguing match-up for the IBF world championship takes place on February 22 and will be a second defence of the title for Dubois. The Brit was elevated to full champion after his victory over Fillip Hrgovic in the summer. That win came via stoppage just a few months after ‘DDD’ also stopped Jarell Miller late on in their 10-round contest back in December 2023.

In his most recent outing, the big punching heavyweight picked up his most impressive win to date by stopping former two-time world champion Anthony Joshua inside five rounds.

Former WBO belt holder Parker is also in a great run of form having beaten Zhilei Zhang and Deontay Wilfer, both on points, in his last two outings.

Speaking to BoxNation, Porter is backing the new and improved Dubois to get the win.

“I love that he has been busy. His fight with Joshua wasn’t a big bruiser so coming back against Parker, that’s a really good fight. I think it’s a fight he’ll win but it’s a good boxing match and what I always say is I want to see good boxing matches.”

It was then put to him that Dubois has improved since tough early fights such as his loss to Joe Joyce.

“He had to grow up. Listen this is what we know about heavyweights, they mature later than any other weight class. I think he’s gone through some of his growing pains and the thing for a fighter is you see our growing pains. We saw his, and I’m happy to see where he’s at now.”

The fight is part of an epic bill that is topped by the undisputed light heavyweight showdown between Artur Beterbiev and Dimitri Bivol.
