Shawn Porter Predicts Terence Crawford vs Prime Manny Pacquiao

Two-time world champion Shawn Porter has predicted the outcome of a fantasy clash between Terence Crawford and Manny Pacquiao.

‘Bud’ Crawford recently announced his retirement from boxing, bringing an end to his outstanding professional career which saw him win world titles in five weight classes, including the undisputed championship in three divisions.

The 38-year-old from Omaha ended his career with an unbeaten record of 42-0, defeating Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez in the final bout of his tenure back in September.

As for Pacquiao, the Filipino icon is widely considered to be one of the greatest fighters of his entire generation. The 47-year-old made a shock comeback to the sport last July when he fought to a draw against WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in Las Vegas.

In a round of ‘Winner Stays On’ with The Daily Mail, former welterweight champion Porter made no mistake in backing ex-rival Crawford to prevail against Pacquiao in what would have been an intriguing match-up.

‘Showtime’ was beaten by Crawford in the 36th and final bout of his professional career back in November of 2021, falling short in his attempt at capturing his countryman’s WBO world welterweight title.

Pacquiao is expected to make a return to action this year, with reports suggesting that the eight-division world champion could be in line to challenge reigning WBA welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero next.

Romero has also been linked to a mandatory title defence against Shakhram Giyasov, with a resolution on the matter expected to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
